Investigation of liquid distribution in gas–solid fluidized beds for fluid cokers

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Thermal cracking processes convert larger molecules into smaller, more valuable products, without a catalyst, allowing for transforming residual oils or waste plastics into useful compounds. Fluid coking, a thermal cracking process utilizing a fluidized bed of hot particles, processes approximately 1 million barrels of residual oil daily. This

Exploring the Influence of Carbonaceous Material on the Photocatalytic Performance of Composites Containing Bi‐BiOBr and P25 TiO2 for NOx Remediation

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Accepted Article.
Bi‐BiOBr‐P25 TiO2 composite exhibits high and synergistic improvements in the photocatalytic activity for nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal. Herein, we explored the influence of adding carbonaceous material to this composite, namely graphene (G), graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes (CNT) and buckminsterfullerene (F); all at 1 wt.%.

Measurement of sulfate ion concentration in segregated post-tension grout

open access: yesCement
Corrosion of steel strand embedded in deficient grout has been associated with elevated concentrations of sulfate ions stemming from grout segregation and the adverse influences of excess mix water and grout prehydration.
