Hydroxyethyl Cellulose as Water‐Soluble Co‐Binder for High Mass Loading LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 Lithium‐Ion Battery Cathodes

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
2‐Hydroxyethyl cellulose is introduced as water‐soluble co‐binder to achieve high electrode mass loadings for fluorine‐free LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathodes. In combination with guar gum, the electrochemical and mechanical properties are simultaneously optimized, enabling graphite∥LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cells with an areal capacity of 2.2 mAh cm‐2 and a capacity ...

Formate Production from Simulated Quasi Flue Gas Combining a Molecular Catalyst and a Modified Electrode

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
Molecular metal complexes form an important class of catalysts for the electroreduction of CO2 (CO2RR) to carbon monoxide (CO) or formic acid (HCOOH), key processes in the context of the requested exploration of novel sources of carbon, alternative to fossil fuels.

Wetlands as environments of early human occupation: A new classification for freshwater palaeowetlands

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
A new classification for inland freshwater palaeowetlands to be used in the field or core laboratory by sedimentologists, providing examples from the Guadix Basin (southern Spain). Abstract Present wetlands have proven to be delicate, biodiverse ecosystems, that are natural sinks for CO2 and act as good indicators for climate changes.
