The role of cementation in the behaviour of cemented soils [PDF]

open access: yesGeotechnical Research, 2014
The behaviour of cemented soil and the role of cementation are reviewed based on experimental results. The review is presented in terms of geomechanics concepts in which the cemented soil may be modelled by elasticity and hardening plasticity concepts.

CO2 Capture, Use, and Storage in the Cement Industry: State of the Art and Expectations

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The implementation of carbon capture, use, and storage in the cement industry is a necessity, not an option, if the climate targets are to be met. Although no capture technology has reached commercial scale demonstration in the cement sector yet, much ...

Impact of typical land use type on the stability and content of carbon and nitrogen of soil aggregates in western Hubei

open access: yesEcosphere, 2023
In order to investigate the characteristics of soil structural stability and the factors influencing it under typical land use types in the karst region of western Hubei, soil samples were collected from five land use types (natural mixed forest [NF ...

Structural built-up of cement-based materials used for 3D-printing extrusion techniques

open access: yes, 2016
Additive manufacturing and digital fabrication bring new horizons to concrete and cement-based material construction. 3D printing inspired construction techniques that have recently been developed at laboratory scale for cement-based materials.

Some durability aspects of hybrid alkaline cements

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2014
Blended cements that contain a high content of fly ash and a low content of Portland cement typically suffer from low early strength development and long setting times. Recently, one method of overcoming these problems has been to use an alkali activator

A note on cement in asteroids [PDF]

open access: yesIcarus 275, 249 (2016), 2016
Cement mineral tobermorite was formed in hydrothermal experiments on alternation of calcium-aluminum-rich inclusions (CAIs) in carbonaceous chondrite meteorites. Unidentified bands at 14 microns were measured for CAIs and the matrix of the Allende meteorite sample, as well as for Hektor and Agamemnon asteroids.
