Influence of fibre treatments on early-age carbonation in yarn-cement paste composites under enforced carbonation

open access: yes
This study examines whether yarn moisture state and surface treatment can control CO2 transport, carbonation extent, and early-age performance in yarn–cement paste composites under enforced carbonation curing. Oven-dried, saturated, cement-slurry-coated,

Identification of an Osteochondral Erosion Process in Gout Driven by Fibrinogen‐Integrin Activation and Local MSU Crystallization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage injury promotes local fibrinogen deposition, which accelerates monosodium urate crystallization and activates integrin‐mediated matrix‐degradation. This self‐amplifying cycle drives gout‐related cartilage erosion. Disrupting fibrinogen deposition or restoring the cartilage barrier could interrupt this vicious cycle.

Neuropeptide Y—Graphene Oxide Complexes Inhibit Amygdala NPY‐Receptor Expressing Glutamatergic Pathways and Selectively Remove Aversive Memory In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A graphene oxide nanocarrier presents neuropeptide Y specifically to NPY receptor‐expressing pathways in the amygdala, whose activation selectively suppresses aversive memory formation, without modulating anxiety responses. This circuit‐restricted drug release strategy may impact future design of neuropsychiatric therapies with limited off‐target ...

Exploring NBT-6BT-2Zn cement composites for wastewater treatment: A Pyrocatalytic approach

open access: yesResults in Engineering
In the present work, ceramic-cement composites are fabricated for wastewater treatment via pyrocatalysis. A 0.94Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3–0.06BaTiO3–2ZnO (NBT-6BT-2Zn) ceramics powder and cement are mixed in various ratios as 0:100, 30:70, 40:60, and 50:50 for ...

Polydopamine Nanoparticle‐Mediated Precise Near‐Infrared Optical Stimulation for Cognitive Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polydopamine nanoparticles enable a precise, non‐genetic, and transcranial neuromodulation strategy via near‐infrared photothermal stimulation. By activating TRPV1 channels, this approach specifically enhances hippocampal gamma oscillations, thereby rescuing spatial memory deficits in models of perioperative neurocognitive disorder.

Multi‐Scale Bionic Structure Constructs Biomass Flame‐Retardant Thermal Insulation Foam Material

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by mussel adhesion and hierarchical brick‐and‐mortar architectures, a cellulose‐based biomimetic foam is constructed by anchoring bentonite nanosheets onto a polydopamine‐decorated cellulose nanofiber network. The resulting foam combines low thermal conductivity with intrinsic flame retardancy and full biodegradability, presenting a ...
