Spruce chips stabilization in wood-cement materials: Effect of matrix composition
The problem of the presented research is stabilization of spruce chips in modified cement matrix of wood-cement composites and analysing the effect of the stabilisation on selected parameters of these composite materials. The matrix has an impact on the

Fatigue failure and success rate of lithium disilicate table-tops as a function of cement thickness [PDF]
Purpose: Under thin, partial coverage restoration the proper cement thickness to be clinically employed still remains an issue. The aim of this study was to determine the failure and success rates of simplified lithium disilicate occlusal veneers as a ...

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.

An experimental and computational investigation of bone cement residual stresses [PDF]
Hip arthroplasty is a common orthopaedic procedure with considerable success in alleviating hip joint pain and disability. To transfer loads from the prosthesis to the contiguous bone, self-curing polymethyl methacrylate, often referred to as bone cement,

Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including
