Nano-SiO2-Engineered Cementitious Composites

2019
Nano-SiO2 particles with pozzolanic activity are introduced into different types of cementitious composites to reinforce/modify their properties/performances. The effects and their mechanisms of nano-SiO2 on the rheology, mechanical properties/performances, and durability of cementitious composites are investigated through performance, thermogravimetry,

Strontium Uptake by Cementitious Materials

Environmental Science & Technology, 2007
Wet chemistry experiments and X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) measurements were carried out to investigate the immobilization of nonradioactive Sr and 85Sr in calcite-free and calcite-containing Portland cement. The partitioning of pristine Sr between hardened cement paste (HCP) and pore solution, and the uptake of 85Sr and nonradioactive Sr ...

Engineered Cementitious Composites

2019
Cementitious Composite (CC) is the mix of various materials, which in a combination form a composite, which would help in bonding of various components in the structure. It is combination used from ancient times and still used in the construction industry.

Flexible Cementitious Products

1993
Cement-based products such as grouts and mortars are being modified with water-based emulsifiable polymers to design products with some of the properties of traditional organic adhesives without sacrificing the properties imparted by the cement. Improved adhesion, strength and flexibility are typical properties of interest for these systems.

Sound absorbing cementitious tile

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
A die assembly for providing a gypsum ceiling tile having improved acoustic absorption properties includes a punch plate having punches which form perforations through a plasterboard tile and indentors which form indentations in the tile. The punches and indentors are arranged in elongate strips to produce fissure-like perforations and indentations.

Ductile polymer modified cementitious material : study of epoxy modified cementitious material

2015
Cementitious materials are typical quasi-brittle materials. They have been used widely in the construction of civil engineering. In order to avoid unforeseeable brittle failures, steel bars and fibers have been introduced into cementitious system to improve the system’s ductility.
