COLONIZACIÓN MICORRÍZICA ARBUSCULAR Y CRECIMIENTO DE GENOTIPOS DE PASTO BUFFEL (Cenchrus ciliaris)

open access: yesRevista Fitotecnia Mexicana, 2006

Discriminating tropical grass (Cenchrus ciliaris) canopies grown under different nitrogen treatments using spectroradiometry

open access: yesISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2003
Techniques for estimating and mapping pasture quality are critical for a better understanding of wildlife and livestock grazing patterns. Nitrogen is one of the most important elements that determine quality in plants. We assessed the potential to discriminate differences in nitrogen concentration using high-resolution reflectance by growing Cenchrus ...

Evolution of the apomixis transmitting chromosome in Pennisetum

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2011
Background Apomixis is an intriguing trait in plants that results in maternal clones through seed reproduction. Apomixis is an elusive, but potentially revolutionary, trait for plant breeding and hybrid seed production.

Perennial pastures for marginal farming country in southern Queensland. 1. Grass establishment techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Efficient ways to re-establish pastures are needed on land that requires a rotation between pastures and crops. We conducted trials in southern inland Queensland with a range of tropical perennial grasses sown into wheat stubble that was modified in ...

Salinity stress affects growth responses of Cenchrus ciliaris under CO2 enrichment

open access: yesEcologia mediterranea, 2012
Salinity stress may affect the response of grass species to atmospheric CO2 enrichment. But the extent and timing of growth responses in hyperarid environments may be different depending on the specific environmental conditions and the type of grass species (C3 vs. C4). The aim of the present study was to assess the extent of Cenchrus ciliaris L.

COMPOSIÇÃO MORFOLÓGICA DE CULTIVARES DE CENCHRUS CILIARIS SUBMETIDOS A DIFERENTES NÍVEIS DE NITROGÊNIO Morphological composition of Cenchrus ciliaris cultivars submitted to different levels of nitrogen
