Labelling fish diets with 15 N -Leucine for monitoring feed consumption and bio-distribution in Atlantic salmon. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci, 2022
Administration of the labelled food to fish allows knowing the real consumption of food by fish. It is possible to determine the distribution and metabolism of nitrogen coming from the labeled amino acids. The marker added to the food can be detected since hours post feed, until its complete elimination form fish, with high sensitivity.

Phylogenetic Determination of Chenopodium quinoaBased on the Chloroplast Genes rbcL and matK

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Chenopodium quinoa is an Andean species of great interest because of its excellent nutritional quality and great adaptability to different environmental conditions. In addition, the high phenotypic diversity has caused difficulties in the correct taxonomic identification, and there are few studies on the phylogenetic relationships of quinoa in Colombia.

Deposit‐Derived Block‐and‐Ash Flows: The Hazard Posed by Perched Temporary Tephra Accumulations on Volcanoes; 2018 Fuego Disaster, Guatemala

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 127, Issue 6, June 2022., 2022
Abstract The impact of hazardous pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) increases with runout distance, which is strongly influenced by the mass flux. This article shows that the mass flux of a PDC may derive not only from vent discharge during the eruption, but also from partly hot, temporary stores (accumulations) of aerated pyroclastic material perched

Species boundaries in the messy middle—A genome‐scale validation of species delimitation in a recently diverged lineage of coastal fog desert lichen fungi

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 11, Issue 24, Page 18615-18632, December 2021., 2021
We investigate species boundaries and the potential for micro‐endemism for a charismatic genus of lichen fungi occurring in Baja California. Genome‐scale data support high species‐level diversity, along with high levels of endemism, while highlighting the problem of delimiting species, particularly in groups with complex, recent phylogeographic ...

Analyzing Explosive Volcanic Deposits From Satellite‐Based Radar Backscatter, Volcán de Fuego, 2018

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 126, Issue 9, September 2021., 2021
Abstract Satellite radar backscatter has the potential to provide useful information about the progression of volcanic eruptions when optical, ground‐based, or radar phase‐based measurements are limited. However, backscatter changes are complex and challenging to interpret: explosive deposits produce different signals depending on pre‐existing ground ...

Cenizas [PDF]
