The Cenomanian deposits of south-east Devonshire

Proceedings of the Geologists' Association, 1961
Abstract The distribution, lithology and regional variations in the thickness of the Cenomanian deposits in south-east Devon are summarised. Three distinctive facies are recognised, viz. (i) the Lower Chalk facies, (ii) the Cenomanian Limestone facies, and (iii) the calcareous sand or Wilmington facies. A detailed description is given of the lateral

Ontogeny and phylogeny of Upper Cenomanian rotaliporids (Foraminifera)

Marine Micropaleontology, 2008
The fossil record of planktonic foraminifera is a key source of data on the evolution of marine plankton. One of the most distinctive groups of Cretaceous foraminifera, the rotaliporids, widely used as a stratigraphic index, has always been considered to be a monophyletic clade. New data on the coiling direction and persistent morphological features of

A Milankovitch scale for Cenomanian time

Terra Nova, 1989
ABSTRACTA detailed cyclostratigraphy is present in the rhythmically bedded Cenomanian hemipelagic chalks of the northern Anglo‐Paris Basin, which can be correlated over 100,000 km2. Individual decimetre‐scale couplets probably represent the precession cycle (modes at 18 or 23 kyr), and can be readily grouped in sets averaging five, indicative of the ...

Cenomanian Trocholinas from Nigeria

Micropaleontology, 1968
Limestones belonging to the Cenomanian Odukpani formation are exposed in southeastern Nigeria, and in them a new species of foraminifer, Trocholina odukpaniensis, as well as fragments of algae and mollusk shells, are preserved as calcite casts. Revision of published material necessitates a new diagnosis of the genus.

The Cenomanian palaeontology

2017

The Cenomanian and Turonian in NortheasternCentral Asia

Cretaceous Research, 1984
Abstract Northeastern Central Asia during the Albian and Early Cenomanianwas one of the peripheral basins of the Central Asian region. The similarity of their freshwater molluscs makes it possible to correlate isolated series in these two regions.

The late Cenomanian Event in eastern England

Cretaceous Research, 1993
The Cenomanian-Turonian boundary event has been fully documented from a series of localities between Flamborough Head in Humberside and Marham in Norfolk. The carbon isotope excursion can be identified and extrapolated to all the studied sections using bed-by-bed correlation.

Cenomanian and Turonian echinoids from Nigeria

Geobios, 1997
Cenomanian to Middle Turonian echinoid faunas from Nigeria are described for the first time on the basis of new collections sampled during recent geological investigations in the Benue Trough. Five Cenomanian species have been recognized: Tetragramma variolare, Heterodiadema libycum, Micropedina olisiponensis, Mecaster pseudofourneli, Mecaster sp.

Dinosaur Tracks in the Lower Cenomanian of Jerusalem

Nature, 1962
As has been announced by the newspaper Press, dinosaur tracks were recently discovered in the vicinity of Jerusalem. Dinosaur foot-prints are relatively rare; at present, they are known in the world probably from no more than about thirty localities. The present discovery is the first not only in Israel but also in the whole Near and Middle East.
