Lower and Middle Cenomanian ammonites from the Morondava Basin, Madagascar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Lower and Middle Cenomanian ammonite assemblages have been collected on a bed-by-bed basis from localities at Vohipaly and Mahaboboka, Madagascar, as well as from outcrops around Berekata, all in the Morondava Basin, southwest Madagascar.

A Southern Hemisphere record of global trace‐metal drawdown and orbital modulation of organic‐matter burial across the Cenomanian–Turonian boundary (Ocean Drilling Program Site 1138, Kerguelen Plateau)

open access: yes, 2017
Despite its assumed global nature, there are very few detailed stratigraphic records of the late Cenomanian to the early Turonian Oceanic Anoxic Event 2 from the Southern Hemisphere. A highly resolved record of environmental changes across the Cenomanian–

The effect of early diagenetic processes on the quantification of fossil micrometeorite abundance and flux in the geological record

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Fossil micrometeorites (MMs) recovered from lithified sedimentary rocks, particularly iron‐rich (I‐type) cosmic spherules (CSs) provide valuable insights into past dust‐forming events. Their abundances, when combined with estimates of local sedimentation rates can be used to reconstruct the flux of extraterrestrial dust.

Biostratigraphy of the Mauddud Formation from selected Boreholes, central Iraq

open access: yesIraqi Geological Journal, 2023
The Mauddud Formation was one of the important and widespread Lower Cretaceous period formations in Iraq. It has been studied in three wells (EB. 55, EB. 58, and EB. 59) within the East Baghdad Oil Field, Baghdad, central Iraq. 280 thin sections

The color of transformation: Investigations into heat treatment of Natufian artifacts from Hayonim Terrace (Israel) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In the Natufian lithic component at Hayonim, both in the cave and the terrace, numerous artifacts of pink/red color may be recognized. Cherts with similar appearance are not present in the geological environment surrounding the site in Northern Israel ...

Morphofunctional Analysis of the Quadrate of Spinosauridae (Dinosauria: Theropoda) and the Presence of Spinosaurus and a Second Spinosaurine Taxon in the Cenomanian of North Africa.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Six quadrate bones, of which two almost certainly come from the Kem Kem beds (Cenomanian, Upper Cretaceous) of south-eastern Morocco, are determined to be from juvenile and adult individuals of Spinosaurinae based on phylogenetic, geometric morphometric,

Microbial mats in dinosaur ichnocoenoses

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Until now, the significance of microbial mats in preservation of dinosaur tracks and in reconstructing the palaeoenvironment in which dinosaurs roamed was rarely studied. Dinosaur tracks are commonly found close to ancient aquatic bodies where moist sediment had once allowed footstep registration.
