ABSTRACT We perform probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) in the Shillong Plateau by clubbing the up‐to‐date earthquake data and seismotectonic properties of the study area. Twenty‐one areal seismic sources are delineated based on the updated earthquake catalog, tectonic, and fault plane solutions.

Magmatic Forcing of Cenozoic Climate? [PDF]
Established theories ascribe much of the observed long-term Cenozoic climate cooling to atmospheric carbon consumption by erosion and weathering of tectonically uplifted terrains, but climatic effects due to changes in magmatism and carbon degassing are ...

TAXONOMY AND AFFINITIES OF AFRICAN CENOZOIC METATHERIANS
The record of extinct African metatherians (Mammalia, Theria) is scanty, restricted in time (Eocene–Miocene), and its taxonomy is still subject of debate. A review of all African metatherians, or alleged metatherians, known up to now, led us to the recognition of only three taxa referable to this group: (1) Kasserinotherium tunisiense (Peradectoidea?),

Mesozoic–Cenozoic Thermochronology of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan System, NW China
Tectonothermal history of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan system compared with the major tectonic events at far‐field plate margins. ABSTRACT The Tarim Basin, an oil‐bearing basin in northwest China, is tectonically and sedimentologically linked to the Southern Tianshan Orogenic Belt.

A. Modeled T‐t paths for samples in the northern Ibex Hills, showing steady cooling throughout much of the Cenozoic, until rapid Miocene cooling. B. Weighted mean paths for each sample in this study. Note that all show a rapid cooling event at or just after 10 Ma, which is interpreted to represent exhumation as a result of regional extenstion ...

Multiphase Tectonic Process With Slab Dynamics in the Northern East China Sea Shelf Basin
Megasequence 1 characterised by Palaeocene extension and differential subsidence driven by the rollback of the subducting Izanagi Plate. Megasequence 2 records a kinematic reorganisation of the East Asian margin, transition from a rifting to a compressional regime.
