4x4 Census Transform

open access: yes2020 IEEE 5th International Conference on Signal and Image Processing (ICSIP), 2020
This paper proposes a 4X4 Census Transform (4X4CT) to encourage further research in computer vision and visual computing. Unlike the traditional 3X3 CT which uses a nine pixels kernel, the proposed 4X4CT uses a sixteen pixels kernel with four overlapped groups of 3X3 kernel size.

Face image matching using fractal dimension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A new method is presented in this paper for calculating the correspondence between two face images on a pixel by pixel basis. The concept of fractal dimension is used to develop the proposed non-parametric area-based image matching method which achieves ...

Depth sensing with disparity space images and three-dimensional recursive search

open access: yesAutomatika, 2018
We present a coarse-to-fine stereo matching optimization applicable to methods utilizing the Disparity Space Image (DSI) structure. With the Three-dimensional Recursive Search algorithm (3DRS), a coarse disparity seed is obtained first, with minimal ...

EVALUATION OF PENALTY FUNCTIONS FOR SEMI-GLOBAL MATCHING COST AGGREGATION [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
The stereo matching method semi-global matching (SGM) relies on consistency constraints during the cost aggregation which are enforced by so-called penalty terms. This paper proposes new and evaluates four penalty functions for SGM.
