Irrigated Pasture: Water Management under Center Pivot Irrigation (Site Specific)

2005 Tampa, FL July 17-20, 2005, 2005
Pasture irrigation under center pivot machines is becoming popular in Brazil in the last 7 years, in order to raise cattle for the international meat (non-confined) demand. Field technicians are considering pasture irrigation management a technical challenger to overcoming in the next years, because under rotary pasture, parcels are simultaneously ...

A Center Pivot Irrigation Simulator for Pesticide Applications

Transactions of the ASAE, 1982
ABSTRACT DROP size distributions & application rates were measured for a center pivot irrigation (CPI) system. A simulator employing eight stationary nozzles in an in-line configuration was designed to duplicate the CPI system performance. Tests showed for drop size distribu-tions and application rates, the simulator values (weighted average) were ...

Interaction of Center Pivot Irrigation and Electrical Transmission

Transactions of the ASAE, 1980
ABSTRACT CROSSING of irrigated or potentially irrigable land by electrical transmission right-of-way (R-O-W) presents a situation where conflict in land use may arise. This paper quantifies some of the factors involved in this interaction. Theoretical R-O-Ws crossing a quarter-section of irrigated land at various orientations are studied.

Nitrogen Fertilization on Center Pivot Sprinkler Irrigated Rice

Crop Management, 2011
Rice (Oryza sativa, L) was grown in a field with well‐drained soils and earthquake‐associated sand blows. A test was conducted to determine the effects of nitrogen management on rice yield and milling with sprinkler irrigation. Two rice cultivars and one hybrid were grown for three years at Portageville, MO, under center pivot irrigation.

Demonstration of Intelligent Center Pivot Irrigation Technology

2014 ASABE Annual International Meeting, 2014
Abstract. Center pivot irrigation systems are predominantly designed to apply a relatively uniform amount of water to fields that are often inherently variable due to factors such as different soil types, topography, or multiple crops. This field variability can result in significantly waste of water and energy, runoff, chemical leaching, and ...

Electronic Percentage Timer for Center Pivot Irrigation Systems

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1989
An electronic percentage timer was developed for center pivot irrigation systems. The timer provides greater timing accuracy than electro-mechanical timers presently used to vary the water and chemical application amounts to a given field.

California's Reluctant Acceptance of Center Pivot Irrigation

Yearbook of the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers, 1979
CENTER PIVOT TECHNOLOGY is having a greater impact on irrigation farming in America t an a y development sin e the invention of the impulse sprinkler and the introduction of lightweight aluminum pipe. In only a few years, center pivots have appeared on the rural landscape of forty states and are now the single most important type of irrigation in nine ...
