Witchcraft trials in Balkans (western and central)
2006Entry provides an overview of some of the aspects of the witchcraft beliefs in the western and central Balkans (lands under the Ottoman rule: parts of Dalmatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Montengero) during the early modern period. The emphasis is on the lack of the official witchcraft persecutions and the forms of the popular perception of witchcraft.

Distribution of Haplotypes of White Oaks in Central Balkans
2002Cp DNA of white oaks from coastal Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo region, FYR of Macedonia and Albania were analysed with the same methods that were used in a previous survey of European oaks. Haplotypes characteristic for Balkan refugium were found, including haplotypes from Apeninic peninsula.
