Central Corneal Thickness in Pediatric Glaucoma
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 2007
PURPOSE

To compare the central corneal thickness (CCT) of children with and without glaucoma and to estimate the effect CCT may have on the intraocular pressure (IOP) assessment of children.

PATIENTS AND METHODS

CCT and IOP measurements were performed in an unmasked fashion in 34 ...

The genetics of central corneal thickness
British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009Evidence in the recent literature has highlighted the importance of central corneal thickness (CCT) in relation to several ocular and non-ocular conditions. Most notably, thinner CCT has been identified as a risk factor for open-angle glaucoma. Despite having an extensive knowledge of the structure and function of the cornea, little is known about the ...

Central Corneal Thickness in Congenital Glaucoma
Cornea, 2006Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare central corneal thickness between eyes with congenital glaucoma and normal fellow eyes in unilateral glaucoma or less affected fellow eyes in bilateral glaucoma. Methods: Eyes of consecutive phakic children with congenital glaucoma and ...

Central corneal thickness in premature babies
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1991Abstract. Central corneal thickness was measured in 13 premature babies with a gestational age below 33 weeks. No difference was found between the thickness in the first and third post‐natal week. At the age of 3 months the thickness had decreased significantly to the same level previously reported in full‐term newborns.

Intraocular pressure and central corneal thickness
2008From the results of the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study emerged the conclusion that ocular hypertensive subjects with thinner central corneal thickness (CCT) are at increased risk of developing glaucoma. Although possible underlying biases that could have led to this conclusion are still under investigation, there is an increasing interest in the ...

Central corneal thickness in high myopia
Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, 2005Abstract.Purpose: To examine if central corneal thickness (CCT) is different in emmetropia and high myopia. Methods: 57 emmetropic subjects (0 to + 1.5 D) and 48 high myopes (all more than − 6 D in spherical equivalent refraction) were studied.

To compare the repeatability and validity of corneal pachymetry by a corneal confocal microscope with a z-axis adapter (Confoscan 4.0 with z-ring adapter: z-CS4) versus ultrasound (US) pachymetry in the measurement of central corneal thickness (CCT).CCT in 44 eyes of 44 subjects was determined with z-CS4.

Central Corneal Thickness in Tilted Disc Syndrome
Optometry and Vision Science, 2008: Earlier literature reports that abnormal optic disc shape or size seem to be closely associated with the shape or size of the cornea. Here we search for an association between the presence of tilted disc syndrome and the central corneal thickness.: Sixty-one eyes of 61 patients with tilted disc syndrome were included in the study.

Central and Peripheral Corneal Thickness
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1968The central and peripheral corneal thickness was measured in 209 normal eyes. The mean central thickness was 0.523 mm ± 0.039 (standard deviation [SD]). The mean peripheral thickness was 0.660 mm ± 0.076 (SD). There was no significant difference between right and left eyes, or between male and female corneas.

The aim of the study was to quantify Scheimpflug corneal densitometry in patients with Fuchs endothelial dystrophy (FED).In this study, we retrospectively reviewed the charts and anterior segment data of 49 patients with FED before posterior lamellar keratoplasty and 51 healthy controls.
