Effect of Timolol on Central Corneal Thickness

European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2013
Purpose Timolol is an effective and safe medication that is widely used in glaucoma treatment. Although it is known that it is quickly taken up by the cornea following topical administration and that the cornea exhibits β-adrenergic receptors, there are few studies available on the clinical impact of timolol on central corneal thickness (CCT).

Central Corneal Thickness in Children With Diabetes

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2009
Purpose: To evaluate the central corneal thickness in children with diabetes and to determine the association between diabetes mellitus–related variables and central corneal thickness. Methods: Fifty-nine patients (mean age: 13.2 years) with diabetes mellitus and 38 controls (mean ...

Central corneal thickness in premature babies

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1991
Abstract. Central corneal thickness was measured in 13 premature babies with a gestational age below 33 weeks. No difference was found between the thickness in the first and third post‐natal week. At the age of 3 months the thickness had decreased significantly to the same level previously reported in full‐term newborns.

Central corneal thickness in high myopia

Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, 2005
Abstract.Purpose:  To examine if central corneal thickness (CCT) is different in emmetropia and high myopia. Methods:  57 emmetropic subjects (0 to  + 1.5 D) and 48 high myopes (all more than − 6 D in spherical equivalent refraction) were studied.

Ocular Hypertension and Central Corneal Thickness

Ophthalmology, 1995
To determine whether ocular hypertension (OHT) is over diagnosed in patients with increased corneal thickness.Thirty-six patients with OHT were compared with 29 control subjects and 31 patients with glaucoma. Corneal thickness was determined by ultrasonic pachymetry and measured at a single point, 1.5 mm temporal to the corneal light reflex. The corneal

Central Corneal Thickness in Tilted Disc Syndrome

Optometry and Vision Science, 2008
: Earlier literature reports that abnormal optic disc shape or size seem to be closely associated with the shape or size of the cornea. Here we search for an association between the presence of tilted disc syndrome and the central corneal thickness.: Sixty-one eyes of 61 patients with tilted disc syndrome were included in the study.

Central corneal thickness and corneal curvature in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

International Ophthalmology, 2016
The aims of this study were to determine the central corneal thickness (CCT) and corneal curvature (CC) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to evaluate the correlations between the CCT, CC, RA activity, and RA duration. Fifty-four RA patients (104 eyes; 35 with dry eye, 69 without dry eye) and 21 age- and gender-matched control patients (42

The Corneal Endothelium and Central Corneal Thickness in Pigmentary Dispersion Syndrome

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1986
The corneal endothelial cell count and central corneal thickness of 20 eyes of patients with pigmentary dispersion syndrome and 20 age-, sex-, and refractive error-matched control eyes were investigated in a masked fashion with a specular microscope and a pachometer.

Corneal curvature and central corneal thickness in eyes with pseudoexfoliation syndrome

Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2007
Previous studies have reported different central corneal thickness (CCT) values in eyes with pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXS). There has been no report about corneal curvature (CC) in PXS eyes. The aim of this study was to investigate the CCT together with the CC in PXS eyes with and without glaucoma. The CC (simulated keratometry 1 [SimK1], SimK2, and ...
