Abstract Two legacy reflection seismic profiles were acquired in 1988, north of the Kloof–Driefontein Complex East Mine in the West Rand goldfield (South Africa), for the purpose of gold exploration and mine planning. These legacy 2D seismic data have been reprocessed using the latest processing tools to improve imaging.

Mafic-silicic magma interaction in the layered 1.87 Ga Soukkio Complex in Mäntsälä, southern Finland [PDF]
The Svecofennian layered Soukkio Complex (1.87 Ga) in Mäntsälä, southern Finland, consists of layered tholeiitic gabbro and porphyritic calc-alkaline monzonite, quartz monzonite and granite, mingled together.

Abstract The Dom Feliciano Belt of southern Brazil and Uruguay represents part of a larger Neoproterozoic orogenic system formed during the amalgamation of Western Gondwana. The hinterland and foreland domains in parts of the belt preserve deformation structures and metamorphic assemblages that developed during early crustal thickening from c.

Characteristics of the Proterozoic porphyry-type Cu occurrence at Tienpää, Halsua, western Finland [PDF]
The widespread, subeconomic porphyry-type Cu mineralization at Tienpää occurs in a Proterozoic tonalite complex. It is located in the marginal zone of the large granitoid complex of central Finland.

We address the relationship between the bedrock structure and bedrock surface topography through conducting structural analysis of the bedrock within the main recharge area of the Kurikka aquifer. Based on the presented results, it is evident that the initial bedrock‐digital elevation model (DEM) with smooth elevation transitions from the elevated ...

The 1.88 Ga old Mäntylä Complex, central Finland: emplacement and deformation of mafic to felsic plutonic rocks and associated Mo mineralization [PDF]
The Mäntylä complex is part of the extensive Central Finland Granitoid Complex. The intrusive sequence was established from contact relations as well as from structural and petrographic criteria.

Abstract The Summanen structure is located in Central Finland and is one of Finland's 12 known meteorite impact structures. In 2017, the discovery of Summanen was based on numerous shatter cone boulders with planar deformation features (PDFs) and a circular electromagnetic anomaly, which is 2.6 km in diameter.

Abstract Recent studies have shown that biosignatures of ancient microbial life exist in mineral coatings in deep bedrock fractures of Precambrian cratons, but such surveys have been few and far between. Here, we report results from southwestern Sweden in an area of 1.6–1.5 Ga Paleoproterozoic rocks heavily reworked by the 1.14–0.96 Ga Sveconorwegian ...

Petrographic studies and mineralogical characterization of the Dellen impactites
Abstract The impact origin of the Early Cretaceous (140.82 ± 0.51 Ma) 20‐km diameter Dellen structure was proven in the late 60s based on the discovery of planar deformation features (PDFs) in quartz grains. Although decades have passed, impactites found from the crater have not received much attention. Thus, this study provides a detailed petrological
