76 mas speckle-masking interferometry of IRC+10216 with the SAO 6m telescope: Evidence for a clumpy shell structure [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics 333, L51-L54 (1998), 1998
We present the first K'-band image of the carbon star IRC+10216 with 76 mas resolution. The diffraction-limited image was reconstructed from 6m telescope speckle data using the speckle masking bispectrum method. The image shows that the dust shell of IRC+10216 is extremely clumpy.

Enhanced formation of giant cells in common variable immunodeficiency: Relation to granulomatous disease. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Peripheral monocytes from patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) had on average a 2 fold greater tendency to form giant cells in medium without additional cytokines. Giant cell formation was faster and 3 to 5 fold higher in most CVID cells

On laminar convection in solar type stars [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We present a new model of large-scale multilayer convection in solar type stars. This model allows us to understand such self-similar structures observed at solar surface as granulation, supergranulation and giant cells. We study the slow-rotated hydrogen star without magnetic field with the spherically-symmetric convective zone.

Sinonasal Sarcoidosis: A Scoping Review of Demographics, Clinical Presentation, and Outcomes

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 3, June 2025.
This study reviews the presentation, treatment, and outcomes of sinonasal sarcoidosis. Sinonasal sarcoidosis predominantly affects female patients with or without a history of systemic sarcoidosis who present with prolonged nasal obstruction. Most patients have symptomatic improvement with conservative management; however, a select subset of patients ...

Giant Magnetoelectric Effect in Antiferromagnetic BaMnO3-δand Its Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Hexagonal perovskite 15R-BaMnO2.99 with a ratio of cubic to hexagonal layers of 1/5 in the unit cell is an antiferromagnetic insulator that orders at a N\'eel temperature TN = 220 K. Here we report structural, magnetic, dielectric and thermal properties of single crystal BaMnO2.99 and its derivatives BaMn0.97Li0.03O3 and Ba0.97K0.03MnO3.

Role of FNAC in the diagnosis of intraosseous jaw lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: FNAC of intraosseous jaw lesions has not been widely utilized for diagnosis due to rarity and diversity of these lesions, limited experience and lack of well established cytological features.

Bioengineered Nanozymes for Orthopedic Degenerative Diseases: From Catalytic Mechanisms to Multimodal Therapy

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2025.
IDD and OA is caused by various mechanisms, creating a vicious cycle that impairs disc function. Nanozymes and nano‐enzyme delivery systems offer innovative therapies by targeting these underlying mechanisms, such as anti‐inflammatory therapy, ECM repair, cellular dysfunction and antioxidant therapy, providing a promising approach to restoring tissue ...

Multicentric giant cell reparative granuloma with extragnathic involvement: Panoramic and computed tomography

open access: yesJournal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, 2015
Giant cell reparative granuloma is also known as central giant cell granuloma with predilection for the mandible. It is a benign bone tumor, which creates a diagnostic dilemma for radiologist due to their rare occurrence and sometimes aggressive nature ...
