New 40Ar/39Ar, fission track and sedimentological data on a middle Miocene tuff occurring in the Vienna Basin: Implications for the north-western Central Paratethys region

open access: yesGeologica Carpathica, 2019
The Kuchyňa tuff is found on the Eastern margin of the Vienna Basin and was formed by felsic volcanism. The Ar/Ar single grain sanidine method was applied and resulted in an age of 15.23±0.04 Ma, which can be interpreted as the age of the eruption.

Decapod Crustacea of the Central Paratethyan Ottnangian Stage (middle Burdigalian): implications for systematics and biogeography

open access: yesGeologica Carpathica, 2015
Decapod crustaceans from the Ottnangian (middle Burdigalian, Lower Miocene) of the Western and Central Paratethys remain poorly known. In this study, we review and re-describe mud shrimps (Jaxea kuemeli), ghost shrimps (Gourretia sp., Calliax michelottii)

Evidence for Badenian local sea level changes in the proximal area of the North Croatian Basin

open access: yesGeologia Croatica, 2010
Quantitative analysis of palynomorphs, foraminifera and ostracods enabled the recognition of biotic events and the reconstruction of environmental change in the Badenian sediments from the Vrhovčak section of Mt. Samoborsko gorje (NW Croatia). During the

Badenian evolution of the Central Paratethys Sea: paleogeography, climate and eustatic sea level changes

open access: yes, 2007
The Miocene Central Paratethys Sea covered wide areas of the Pannonian Basin System, bordered by the mountain chains of the Alps, Carpathians and Dinarides. The epicontinental sea spread not only in the back-arc basin area, but flooded even the Alpine-Carpathian Foredeep, situated along the front of gradually uplifting mountains.
