Astronauts as a Human Aging Model: Epigenetic Age Responses to Space Exposure

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
This longitudinal analysis of Axiom‐2 astronauts reveals that spaceflight induces a rapid andsignificant epigenetic age acceleration that is largely reversible upon return to Earth. These findings identify space exposure as a unique model for studying aging mechanisms and potentially testing geroprotective interventions.

MSC‐Derived Exosomal lnc‐AGT‐3: A Novel Anti‐Angiogenic Target in Age‐Related Macular Degeneration Through p53 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
MSC‐derived exosomes deliver lnc‐AGT‐3 to vascular endothelial cells, where it binds hnRNP K in the nucleus. This interaction inhibits p53 ubiquitination, enhancing p53 stabilization and transcriptional activation of anti‐angiogenic targets TSP1. Consequently, p53‐mediated signaling is potentiated, effectively suppressing choroidal neovascularization ...

Relation Between Adiposity Measures and the Risk of a Composite of Cardiovascular Events, Diabetes, and Cancer in Patients With Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Adiposity contributes to multiple non‐communicable diseases. To guide prevention of morbidity, this study aimed to quantify the relation between waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), waist to height ratio (WtHR), abdominal subcutaneous (SAT) and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and the risk of a composite outcome including recurrent ...

Safety and efficacy of the therapy with CD4 + CD25highCD127‐T regulatory cells: When paediatric patient becomes adult

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 1392-1402, February 2026.
Abstract Aim CD4 + CD25highCD127‐T regulatory cells (Tregs) remain a drug candidate for immunotherapy of type 1 diabetes. We completed three trials testing Tregs in recently diagnosed type 1 diabetes children. Here, we looked for long‐term safety and efficacy aspects important in the authorisation of this therapy.
