Anion‐Selective Channels Formed by Synthetic 13‐Mer Chimeric α ‐Peptide‐Oligourea Foldamers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Synthetic 13‐mer α‐peptide‐oligourea chimeric foldamers self‐assemble into supramolecular ion channels, demonstrating high ion transport activity with distinct anion selectivity in lipid membranes. This study supports the design of bioinspired functional foldamer‐based channels for synthetic ion transport applications.

Association between lifestyle habits and central sensitization in community-dwelling older adults in Japan: a cross-sectional analysis from the Otassha study

open access: yesBMC Geriatrics
Background Disruptions in daily lifestyle habits are associated with various health issues, including chronic pain. Central sensitization, characterized by heightened responsiveness of the central nervous system, plays a key role in pain perception ...

Multimodal Fluorescent MOF@BODIPY Platform: Bridging Sensing and Mechanistic Insight

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hybrid metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) that integrate organic chromophores constitute powerful platforms for optical sensing by combining structural order with tunable photophysics. Incorporating photoresponsive chromophores into MOFs enables sensitive probing of guest–framework interactions through well‐defined luminescent signatures. Herein,

Linking central sensitization to multisystemic manifestations in hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome

open access: yesFrontiers in Pain Research
Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) are complex multisystemic conditions frequently associated with chronic pain.

Cellular Membrane‐Targeted Europium(III) Probe for Selective and Time‐Resolved Detection of Peroxynitrite

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report a cellular membrane‐targeted europium(III) probe, Eu.Chol, that enables selective, time‐resolved detection of peroxynitrite (ONOO−) at the cell membrane interface. Eu.Chol demonstrates efficient incorporation into liposomes and Jurkat cells, with minimal response to H2O2, establishing a modular platform for subcellular ONOO− sensing ...

Reference ranges and influencing factors of pressure pain threshold in Chinese patients with knee osteoarthritis

open access: yesAnnals of Medicine
Background Pressure pain threshold (PPT) is a reliable objective measure of pain sensitization; however, standardized region-specific reference data for Chinese patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) remain scarce.

Formation of Lanthanide Luminescent Aggregates With RNA Using Tripodal Europium [Eu(III)] BTA Self‐Assembled Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The two Eu(III) complexes of 1.Eu and 2.Eu, that were formed in situ, were used to bind to yeast RNA and A10 (RNA) in a buffered pH 7 solution. The interaction gave rise to changes in the lanthanide‐centered emission because of direct binding of these complexes, which resulted in aggregation of the RNA, as demonstrated using phase‐contrast and atomic ...

[Therapy of disorders with central pain sensitization.]

open access: yes, 2009
Previous somatic pain experience (priming), psychobiographic imprinting (pain proneness), and stress (action proneness) are key to an enhanced centralised pain response. This centralised pain response clinically manifests itself in pain sensitization and

Designing a Triplet 2‐Formylphenylnitrene With Fast Tunneling Reactivity

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A 3‐CF3 substituent accelerates tunneling in triplet 2‐formylphenylnitrene, making its reactivity in cryogenic matrices too fast for conventional IR spectroscopic detection. Bringing this chemistry to low‐temperature solutions allows suppression of intrinsic nitrene dimerization through faster cyclization, which even outcompetes the 1,4‐H shift ...

Temporomandibular disorders and Central Sensitization Inventory: an exploratory study

open access: yes, 2019
Objectives: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) can be associated with impaired pain mechanisms often defined as Central Sensitization(CS)(1–3). The Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI) was designed to identify andquantify key symptoms associated with CS ...
