Mining Loads for Central Stations
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1913The paper discusses the desirability of mining loads for central stations from the view points of both the mine operators and central station operators. The power supplied to a mine from a central station is used, in general, for haulage, hoisting, ventilation, coal cutting, pumping, tipples, machine shop, blacksmith shop, and general lighting.

This project concerns the most centrally located and spatially complex area in central Stockholm. It is located directly to the west of the internationally well-known Stockholm City area developed in the 1950s and 1960s. Presently significant reconstruction of the central station and its track areas is under way which will also open up a large new ...

The Railroad Stations of Central California [PDF]
Forty-two structures built as passenger depots in California’s San Joaquin Valley region have survived the decline of railroad travel that began more than 70 years ago. At least as many depots have vanished and further attrition seems likely. Current stations fall into three functional categories with several subtypes: railroad, including active ...

Industrial and Central Station
Journal of Engineering for Power, 1959Abstract Gas turbines have become established components of modern industry. Industrial and central-station units now total 3,614,000 hp installed, planned, or projected, and a wide variety of equipment is available. One generation of commercial industrial gas turbines—the Houdry process—has already become obsolete.

Central Station Power for Mines
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1913The paper is devoted chiefly to a historical sketch of the West Perm system in regard to its electrical service in connection with coal mines. The first mine installation was connected to the system in 1896 and previous to that time it had been found very difficult to convince the mine operators of the advisability of central station service, as they ...

Site Response of Strong Motion Stations in the Umbria, Central Italy, Region
, 2004We used near-field and regional records from 16 earthquakes ( M L 4.6-5.9) located in the epicentral area of the 1997 Umbria-Marche sequence to estimate the site response of 40 strong motion stations.

Cement in central station design
Proceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1905The Illinois Steel Company has just completed and placed in operation at its plant in South Chicago, a new power-house for the supply of power to its various mills at South Chicago, and at Buffington, 10 miles distant. This station contains, at the present time, two units, each consisting of a 2000-kw., 25-cycle, 2200-volt, three-phase generator ...

Flint Stations in Central Alaska
American Antiquity, 1948Our knowledge of the prehistory of interior Alaska is still very limited. Nearly all archaeological work in the territory has been in the Eskimo and Aleut regions. In the interior planned, systematic surveys have been conducted by Froelich Rainey, Frederica de Laguna, and Frederick Johnson, but most of these deal with relatively recent Athapascan sites.

Power station centralized control centralized control for steam power stations
Electrical Engineering, 1950THE ULTIMATE in centralization of instrumentation and controls for a steam electric power station might be considered as only one operator for the whole station; this operator would be sitting in a quiet air-conditioned office with one load indicator and one control to start, adjust the load, and stop each main turbine generator.

A comparison of methods for ranking boars from different central test stations.
Journal of Animal Science, 1987Data were received from 24 test stations on 3,999 boars tested in fall 1984 and spring 1985. In an effort to increase the connectedness between stations, one reference sire was selected to produce sons (reference boars) through artificial insemination to
