Plasma expansion in surgical patients with high central venous pressure (CVP); the relationship of blood volume to hematocrit, CVP, pulmonary wedge pressure, and cardiorespiratory changes.

Surgery, 1975
There was no correlation of blood volume measurements with central venous pressure (CVP) or hematocrit determinations and only minimal suggestive trends with wedge pressure in a large series of postoperative patients; the lack of correlations emphasize the unreliability of venous pressure and hematocrit determinations to predict blood volume ...

Is Pulse Pressure Variation More Accurate Than Central Venous Pressure (CVP) or Pulmonary Artery Pressure (PAP) for Volume Resuscitation?

2017
A 48-year-old man on postoperative day 2 is recovering in the surgical intensive care unit from an extensive retroperitoneal sarcoma resection. The case was complicated by transfusion of 12 U of packed red blood cells, 6 U of fresh frozen plasma, and two packs of platelets.

Retrieval of detached fragment of central venous pressure catheter (CVP) lodged in the right ventricle and pulmonary artery: a case report.

The Medical journal of Malaysia, 1992
A successful retrieval of a detached segment of a CVP catheter by percutaneous right transfemoral venous route, using a Dotter intravascular retriever basket, is reported. The procedure was monitored under fluoroscopy. Only local anaesthesia, which was infiltrated around the puncture site, was given to the patient.

Comparison of accuracy of central venous pressure (CVP) estimation in internal jugular vein (IJV) by ultrasound and conventional method (using saline column): An observational study

International Journal of Science and Research Archive
Aim & background: Central venous pressure (CVP) is needed in acute resuscitation and in intensive care unit patients to monitor hemodynamics and to guide fluid resuscitation. The primary objective of our study is to compare the ultrasound (USG) guided measurement of CVP with conventional measurement of CVP using saline column. Methods: The study is

EVALUATION OF EFFECT OF POSITIVE END-EXPIRATORY PRESSURE (PEEP) OPTIMIZATION IN ADULT ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME PATIENTS ON CENTRAL VENOUS PRESSURE (CVP) AND RIGHT VENTRICLE (RV) SYSTOLIC FUNCTION

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Background:ARDS impairs oxygenation and affects cardiovascular dynamics. PEEP, while improving oxygenation, may influence CVP and RV function. Objective: To assess the impact of PEEP optimization on CVP and RV systolic function in mechanically ventilated ARDS patients. Methods:Aprospective observational study conducted over 6 months on 40 ARDS patients
