Revisiting Mission‐Oriented Cancer Research to tackle the increasing burden of cancer in Europe–a policy perspective

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Translational cancer research and its implementation through competitively selected Comprehensive Cancer Centers across Europe should be the primary policy focus for addressing the increasing cancer burden in Europe and counteract the present main strategy to convert cancer to a chronic disease.

Influence of Flexible Sub on Deviating Force of Static Push-the-bit Rotary Steering BHA

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2022
As for the influence of flexible sub on the deviating force of static push-the-bit rotary steering(SRS)tools, divergent opinions exist. In this paper, based on the structural characteristics of AutoTrak Curve, considering the motion constraints of mandrel ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

On the centralizer of vector fields: criteria of triviality and genericity results

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we investigate the question of whether a typical vector field on a compact connected Riemannian manifold $M^d$ has a `small' centralizer.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Weyl algebra based key exchange protocol

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2014
In this article we introduce the Weyl algebras as a platform algebra for a key exchange protocol based on the decomposition problem. In order to use it as a platform, we prove one propery of the Weyl algebra, related to it’s centralizer.

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

On Equality of Certain Derivations of Lie Algebras

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2019
Let L be a Lie algebra. A derivation α of L is a commuting derivation (central derivation), if α (x) ∈ CL (x) (α (x) ∈ Z (L)) for each x ∈ L. We denote the set of all commuting derivations (central derivations) by 𝒟 (L) (Derz (L)).

Poisson Centralizer of the Trace [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Poisson centralizer of the trace element is determined in the coordinate ring of SL_n endowed with the Poisson structure obtained as the semiclassical limit of its quantized coordinate ring.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.
