Centralizers, Normalizers, and Commensurators

open access: closed, 2001
Consider a group G and a subgroup Γ ≤ G. We are interested here in the centralizer Z G (Γ), normalizer N G (Γ), and commensurator C G (Γ) (see (6.1)). In (6.2)—(6.4), G will be a topological group. From (6.5) on, G = Aut(X), where X is a tree. Whenever we assume that Γ is an X-lattice, it is implicity assumed also that X is locally finite.

Central hemodynamic assessment of normal term pregnancy

International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 1989

Studies were repeated in the same patients between 11 and 13 weeks post partum.

Normal-Weight Central Obesity and Risk for Mortality

Annals of Internal Medicine, 2017
Background: The association between obesity, defined in terms of body mass index (BMI), and mortality in the general population has been controversial. Various studies have examined whether central obesity has greater predictive utility than BMI. In a 2015 study of 15 184 adults, paradoxical results suggested that centrally obese participants defined ...

Central Masking In Normal Listeners

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1973
The central masking phenomenon (CM) was studied with a clinical audiometric paradigm in a group of 40 normal-hearing subjects. Contralateral maskers of wide-band noise and narrow-band noise were used each at 40 dB SL to evaluate thresholds for 500, 1 000, 2 000 and 4 000 Hz tones.

Normal-Tension Glaucoma and Central Corneal Thickness

Optometry and Vision Science, 1999
To determine whether a decreased corneal thickness is a primary factor in the lower intraocular pressure readings found in normal-tension glaucoma patients.Fourteen patients with normal-tension glaucoma were compared with 14 age- and sex-matched glaucoma patients. Corneal thickness was measured by ultrasonic pachymetry on each eye.The corneal thickness

CENTRAL RETINITIS WITH RECOVERY OF NORMAL VISION

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1922
Retinal inflammations incident to serious constitutional diseases have been of interest to general practitioners and ophthalmologists ever since the invention of the ophthalmoscope made their observation and study possible. The importance justly attributed to the early recognition of such lesions has not been due primarily to the possibility of saving ...
