Convergence to a self-normalized G-Brownian motion [PDF]
G-Brownian motion has a very rich and interesting new structure which nontrivially generalizes the classical one. Its quadratic variation process is also a continuous process with independent and stationary increments. We prove a self-normalized functional central limit theorem for independent and identically distributed random variables under the sub ...

Beauville surfaces and finite simple groups
A Beauville surface is a rigid complex surface of the form (C1 x C2)/G, where C1 and C2 are non-singular, projective, higher genus curves, and G is a finite group acting freely on the product.

Electropneumatic Oscillators Using Nonlinear Inflatables
In animals, self‐oscillations are essential to coordinate locomotion and other bodily functions. By combining hysteretic membranes with a resistive strain sensor, an electropneumatic self‐oscillator with an oscillation frequency that directly depends upon geometric parameters in the fluidic domain is introduced.

Abstract We propose a hierarchical energy management scheme for aggregating Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) for grid flexibility services. To prevent a direct participation of numerous prosumers in the wholesale electricity market, aggregators, as self‐interest agents in our scheme, incentivize prosumers to provide flexibility. We firstly model the

Evidence for the central origin of lexical tone normalization (L) [PDF]
Huang and Holt [(2009). J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 125, 3983–3994] suggest that listeners may dynamically tune lexical tone perception via general auditory sensitivity to the mean f0 of the preceding context, effectively normalizing pitch differences across talkers.

Normal approximation and almost sure central limit theorem for non-symmetric Rademacher functionals [PDF]
In this work, we study the normal approximation and almost sure central limit theorems for some functionals of an independent sequence of Rademacher random variables. In particular, we provide a new chain rule that improves the one derived by Nourdin, Peccati and Reinert(2010) and then we deduce the bound on Wasserstein distance for normal ...

Artificial intelligence (AI) applications are finding use in real‐world neurological settings. Whereas part 1 of this 3‐part review series focused on the birth of AI and its foundational principles, this part 2 review shifts gears to explore more practical aspects of neurological care.

Non-stationary normal forms for contracting extensions [PDF]
We present the theory of non-stationary normal forms for uniformly contracting smooth extensions with sufficiently narrow Mather spectrum. We give coherent proofs of existence, (non)uniqueness, and a description of the centralizer results. As a corollary, we obtain corresponding results for normal forms along an invariant contracting foliation.

Lanthanide‐based luminescence nanothermometry holds multifaceted potential for nanomedical applications, yet despite significant research advances, clinical translation of the engineered nanomaterials is still controversial and widely disputed. This is related to crucial nanotoxicological aspects that must be addressed at the preclinical level ...
