We look for evidence of tidal stripping in elliptical galaxies through the analysis of homogeneous CCD data corresponding to a sample of 228 elliptical galaxies belonging to 24 clusters of galaxies at $0 ...

Gnathological splint therapy in temporomandibular joint disorder
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) forms an integral functional part of stomatognathic system. Position, shape, structure and function of teeth have an influence on the proper functioning and health of TMJ. But a problem associated with TMJ is often neglected,

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...

Centric relation: concepts revision and recording techniques. Part I [PDF]
La relación céntrica ha sido objeto de disparidad de criterios en la odontología durante más de un siglo. A lo largo de este trabajo, vamos a exponer diferentes métodos usados tanto para obtener el registro, como para comprobar su certeza y corroborar la

The Galaxy Population of Abell 1367: The Stellar Mass-Metallicity Relation
Using wide baseline broad-band photometry, we analyse the stellar population properties of a sample of 72 galaxies, spanning a wide range of stellar masses and morphological types, in the nearby spiral-rich and dynamically young galaxy cluster Abell 1367.

Transmission of cultural traits in layered ego-centric networks [PDF]
Although a number of models have been developed to investigate the emergence of culture and evolutionary phases in social systems, one important aspect has not yet been sufficiently emphasized.

Sparse Relational Reasoning with Object-Centric Representations [PDF]
We investigate the composability of soft-rules learned by relational neural architectures when operating over object-centric (slot-based) representations, under a variety of sparsity-inducing constraints. We find that increasing sparsity, especially on features, improves the performance of some models and leads to simpler relations.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

Dendritic cells steering antigen and leukocyte traffic in lymph nodes
Dendritic cells are key players in the activation of T cells and their commitment to effector function. In this In a Nutshell Review, we will discuss how dendritic cells guide the trafficking of antigen and leukocytes in the lymph node, thus influencing T‐cell activation processes. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in initiating and shaping the
