Numerical Simulation and Analyze for Centrifuge Model Tests

2007
RFPA-Centrifuge is a Finite Element Method analyse system which is founded on fundamental principle of centrifuge model test and edited by our research center. Author used this system to simulate the centrifuge model tests about a tunnel. The numerical simulation results are greatly similar to the experimental test results.

Centrifuge Model Tests of Rainfall-Induced Landslides

2015
Rainfall-induced landslides and debris flows constitute very serious threats to human lives and infrastructure. In many cases, rainfall characteristics which cause the initiation of landslides are not very well determined and this might lead to the misunderstanding of the failure mechanism, the kinematic characteristics and the run-out distance of the ...

Simulation of Climatic Conditions in Centrifuge Model Tests

Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1991
Abstract A review is presented of the need for simulation of effects associated with tide, rainfall, temperature variations, etc., in geotechnical centrifuge models. Interest in the overall theme was generated by a perceived need to model rainfall in long-term testing of models of an embankment which was otherwise found to dry out.

Centrifuge Model Test of Vacuum Surcharge Preloading

CICTP 2015, 2015
Vacuum surcharge preloading for stabilizing soft soil foundation is becoming an increasingly popular ground improvement technique. Although many studies have been reported in literatures, few articles adopted the centrifuge model test. The Centrifuge model test technique is adopted to simulate a gravity field by changing centrifugal acceleration, in ...

Simulation of Ground Loss in Centrifuge Model Tests

Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1993
Abstract This note presents a computer-controlled mechanical system developed to simulate ground loss in centrifuge model tests. The main application of the system to date had been in the field of mining subsidence prediction. This involves the replication of total extraction of thin mineral seams at depth.

Cyclic Static Model Pile Tests in a Centrifuge

Offshore Technology Conference, 1979
ABSTRACT Scaling relations for soil studies indicate that certain model behaviors will represent correctly those of the prototype if the model is subjected to an acceleration proportional to the model scale. The most convenient way of accomplishing this is to perform model tests in a large centrifuge. Lateral cyclic
