A Comparative Assessment of the Upper Pharyngeal Airway Dimensions among Different Anteroposterior Skeletal Patterns in 7–14-Year-Old Children: A Cephalometric Study

open access: yesChildren, 2022
Background: The pharyngeal airway is a crucial part of the respiratory system’s function. Assessing the pharyngeal airway dimensions in different skeletal types is important in the orthodontic treatment of growing patients.

Sagittal Cephalometric Characteristics in Females With Turner Syndrome in Comparison to Nonsyndromic Females: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, Volume 28, Issue 4, Page 593-604, August 2025.
ABSTRACT The present study aimed to assess the sagittal cephalometric characteristics in females with Turner syndrome (TS) as compared with nonsyndromic females. A literature search was carried out using six electronic databases to identify studies that compared the sagittal lateral cephalometric measurements in females with TS, with the last search ...

Comparison of linear measurement accuracy on cone-beam computed tomography images and digital lateral cephalometric radiographs

open access: yesمجله دانشکده دندانپزشکی اصفهان, 2013
Introduction: Two-dimensional (2D) imaging has limitations in the evaluation of three-dimensional (3D) structures. In recent years, it has become possible to acquire 3D data of patients.

Head Circumference Versus Length and Weight Deficits up to 2 Years of Age in Bangladesh

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, Volume 21, Issue 2, April 2025.
Term infants in Bangladesh had smaller head circumferences compared to international standards. In the postnatal period (3–24 months of age), average deficits in head circumference were more severe than expected based on body lengths, indicating a lack of head‐sparing in a setting where early childhood undernutrition is widespread.

Efficacy of a Metal Artifact Reduction Algorithm in CBCT Images of Teeth With Ceramic Brackets With/Without Coated Archwires: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 11, Issue 1, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a metal artifact reduction (MAR) algorithm for cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of teeth with ceramic brackets with/without coated archwires. Material and Methods In this in vitro study, 10 ceramic brackets were bonded to maxillary anterior teeth from the second premolar of one ...

Three‐dimensional cone beam computed tomography analysis of craniofacial phenotype in nonobese apneic young adults

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 1, February 2025.
The incidence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is constantly increasing. This study investigated a craniofacial phenotype specific to nonobese apneic young adults in order to facilitate their screening and treatment. Abstract Objective The obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome with its various phenotypes, as assessed by the apnea‐hypopnea index (AHI),

Craniofacial Changes Related to Maxillary Protraction Therapy in Mandibular Prognathism Associated With a Thyroglossal Duct Cyst: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Mandibular prognathism results from a complex interplay of genetic predisposition and environmental influences. In this study, we aimed to report the successful orthodontic management of a pediatric patient with mandibular prognathism that was potentially associated with a thyroglossal duct cyst in the floor of the mouth.

Oligodontia Management in a Resource‐Limited Setting: Two Case Reports and Review of Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
