Complete plastid genome of Cumathamnion serrulatum (Ceramiales, Rhodophyta) [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2021
We report the complete plastid genome of Cumathamnion serrulatum, also known as Delesseria serrulata. The plastid genome was 174,192 bp in size. Annotation showed there were 193 protein coding genes, three ribosomal RNAs, and 29 transfer RNAs. One intron

Three-dimensional reconstruction of ediacaran ceramiales (Rhodophyta) from the phosphorite doushantuo formation, South China [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation (551–635 Ma) is known to include excellently preserved microfossils that reveal information about early eukaryotic evolution. Here, we report the presence of Vetusceramium sinense gen. et sp.

OCCURRENCE OF TETRASPORANGIA IN Ceramium bisporum (CERAMIALES, RHODOPHYTA)

open access: yesActa Biológica Colombiana, 2014
The presence of tetrahedrally divided tatrasporangia in Ceramium bisporum Ballantine is reported for the first time. The plant was found as epiphytic on calcareous Halimeda tuna in coral reef environment in Caribbean Colombia.

Correlations between primary and secondary metabolites in Ceramiales (Rhodophyta) [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Systematics and Ecology, 2004
A correlation between the presence of terpenes and floridosides and between the presence of bromophenols and digeneaside was observed in species of red algae belonging to the order Ceramiales. This observation suggests a division in Ceramiales that can be easily detected through the presence of the secondary metabolites, terpenes and bromophenols.

Chemotaxonomic Study of Bostrychia spp. (Ceramiales, Rhodophyta) Based on Their Mycosporine-Like Amino Acid Content [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
This study presents a chemotaxonomic investigation of the genus Bostrychia through the quantitation of the major mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs). The presence of some cryptic species had been suggested in the B. moritziana/B. radicans complex and MAA-
