Translucency of Zirconia Ceramics before and after Artificial Aging
Journal of Prosthodontics, 2018AbstractPurposeThe aging of zirconia ceramics (Y‐TZP) is associated with tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation. This change in microstructure may affect the optical properties of the ceramic. This study examines the effect of aging on the translucency of different zirconia materials.Materials and Methods120 disc‐shaped specimens were fabricated

West Indian Archaeology. 3. Ceramic Age
Journal of Archaeological Research, 2000Irving Rouse once calculated that more than 90% of all pre-Columbian artifacts from the West Indies are made of clay. It should, therefore, come as no surprise that the vast majority of research in the region has focused on the ceramic age cultures. The review begins by considering the early ceramic age peoples whose pottery is classified as part of ...

Antibacterial Ag-doped glass-ceramic scaffolds
2009A bioactive and fluoroapatite-containing glass-ceramic was used to realize scaffolds (Fa-GC) with the polymeric sponge method. In order to confer antibacterial properties, silver was introduced in the material (Ag-Fa-GC) through a patented ion-exchange process.
