Titania slag as a ceramic pigment

Dyes and Pigments, 2008
The phase transformations and colouring mechanisms that occur during the ceramic processing of titania slag were investigated using XRF-EDS, XRD, DRS and laboratory-scale application in glazed and unglazed tiles. The slag transforms to pseudobrookite, undergoing a drastic colour change during firing as a consequence of thermal oxidation with Fe2+ to ...

Monoferrite BaFe2O4 applied as ceramic pigment

Ceramics International, 2007
Abstract This work had the objective of studying the ceramic pigment BaFe 2 O 4 , which presents iron as the chromophore ion, and barium as net modifier. Synthesis was done by the polymeric precursor method. After calcination at different temperatures, characterizations were done by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, surface area by BET ...

Ceramic pigment obtained by polymeric precursors

Dyes and Pigments, 2005
Abstract Fe 2 O 3 has been used as ceramic pigment due to excellent colorimetric characteristics combined with thermal stability. The introduction of La +3 to Fe 2 O 3 yields the precipitation of the perovskyte structure (LaFeO 3 ) with corresponding differences in the color of the resulting pigment.

Ceramic Pigments Based on Natural Minerals

Glass and Ceramics, 2002
The results of studying the use of nontraditional materials in the production of ceramic pigments are summarized. It is noted that the use of natural materials, namely, calcium-magnesium silicates, opens vast opportunities, since they can act as main or transitional crystalline structures. New methods of synthesis of pigments are discussed.
