Abstract In paleomagnetism, bulk measurements of entire samples have traditionally been used to characterize remanent magnetization. While effective, this approach provides only a general directional estimate and cannot resolve spatial variability or magnetization at the grain scale.

Densification of porous refractory substrates [PDF]
A hydrolyzed tetraethyl orthosilicate is applied to the surface of a porous refractory substrate following which the substrate is heated to a temperature and for a period of time sufficient to bond the silica released from the tetraethyl orthosilicate to

Processing–Property Mapping of Flash‐Sintered Wall Tile Bodies
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effects of furnace temperature (900°C and 945°C), applied electric field (50–200 V.cm−1), and current density (50–150 mA.mm−2) on the physical properties and microstructure of flash‐sintered wall tile bodies. Water absorption, bulk density, and open porosity were measured and compared with an industrially fired ...

Modeling of Physical–Chemical and Thermomechanical Properties of Glasses From Recycled Waste
ABSTRACT This research focuses on understanding the high‐temperature phase evolution occurring during the vitrification of heterogeneous construction and demolition wastes (CDWs). The aim of this project is to transform this widely distributed and mostly unused waste stream into a homogeneous, engineered, glass‐based material with predictable ...

Flaw detection in a multi-material multi-layered composite: Using FEM and air-coupled UT [PDF]
Ceramic tiles are the main ingredient of a multi‐layer multi‐material composite being considered for the modernization of tank armors. The high stiffness, low attenuation, and precise dimensions of these uniform tiles make them remarkable resonators when
