The avocado industry is important in South Africa, but access to certain markets is impeded by the presence of phytosanitary pests. One of the ways of securing entry to these markets is to demonstrate that a mitigating treatment will result in there being a negligible chance of accidental importation. In cold treatment comparative studies at 0 °C and 2

Analýza sexuálního feromonu ovocných mušek rodu Ceratitis fasciventris, Ceratitis anonae a Ceratitis rosa [PDF]
Ceratitis fasciventris, Ceratitis anonae and Ceratitis rosa are polyphagous agricultural pests originating from African continent. Their behaviour is heavily altered by pheromones. Insect chemical communication channels are species-specific, represents taxonomic and reproduction barriers.

Preparation of Y-Doped Barium Cerate and Strontium Cerate Membranes
Key Engineering Materials, 2007BaCe0.9Y0.1O3-a and SrCe0.9Y0.1O3-a powders were synthesized by both the solid-state reaction method and the liquid citrate method. The shrinkage, porosity and relative density of membranes prepared from these powders were determined, after sintering at 1550°C (BaCe0.9Y0.1O3-a membrane) or 1450°C (SrCe0.9Y0.1O3-a membranes) for 3 hours.

There have been relatively few attempts to model the distributions of the fruit flies Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), Ceratitis cosyra (Walker), and Ceratitis rosa Karsch in China, but the geographic distributions of these species are of considerable concern in terms of biosecurity.

Heterosis in Ceratitis capitata
2020Genetic improvement through heterosis has been little exploited in beneficial insects. Heterosis could contribute to increased competitiveness of lab strains in the field with a consequent savings in rearing costs. Heterosis has been quantified for many insects, such as the flour moth where significant F1 and F2 values were observed and applied at a ...
