Heat shock response in Ceratitis capitata
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1983Abstract 1. 1. Salivary glands from third instar larvae of Ceratitis capitata synthesize a set of at least 8 specific polypeptides in response to heat shock (37°C for 30 min), while the overall protein synthesis is reduced. 2. 2. The main heat shock protein (hsp) was found to have on SDS, an apparent molecular weight 69,000 (69 K) and may ...

Color responses of Ceratitis capitata flies
Zeitschrift für Angewandte Entomologie, 1976AbstractResponses of Mediterranean fruit flies, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), to small sticky‐coated rectangles hung in olive or apricot trees showed that yellow rectangles (especially daylight fluorescent Saturn Yellow) captured more flies than light orange, light green, red, gray or clear Plexiglas rectangles. The evidence indicates that the flies'

Cchobo, a hobo-related sequence in Ceratitis capitata
Genetica, 2005A hobo-related sequence, Cchobo, with high similarity to the Drosophila melanogaster HFL1 and hobo108 elements was isolated from the medfly. Thirteen PCR-derived clones, which share 97.9-100% DNA identity, were sequenced, seven of which do not show frame-shift or stop codon mutations in their conceptual translations.

Cytochrome b5 from the insect Ceratitis capitata
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1986Abstract Cytochrome b5 has been purified to electrophoretic homogeneity from larvae microsomes of the insect Ceratitis capitata. The purification procedure involves its solubilization with Triton X-100 and column chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and Ultrogel AcA-44.
