Growth Substances and Dormancy in Ceratophyllum demersum
Physiologia Plantarum, 1979Abstract Ceratophyllum demersum L. occurs in winter in the dormant form, in summer in the vegetative form. Factors that affect growth and dormancy in Ceratophyllum were studied. After several weeks of severe winter conditions the plants changed from dormant to quiescent state.

The kinetics of NH4 uptake by Ceratophyllum
Hydrobiologia, 1973The relationship between growth of aquatic plants and their nutrient supply is poorly understood, because of the lack of suitable models which could be tested in the field. The purpose of this research was to learn if the Michaelis-Menten expression describes the relationship between the uptake of NH4 by Ceratophyllum and the concentration of NH4 in ...

Photosynthetic characteristics of the submerged macrophyte Ceratophyllum demersum
Physiologia Plantarum, 1986The photosynthetic and growth characteristics of Ceratophyllum demersum L. were investigated under laboratory conditions which simulated those encountered in the plants' normal environment. The carbon fixation rate of C. demersum measured with 14C at light and carbon saturation at pH 8.0 was 4.48 mg C (g ash‐free dry weight)−1 h−1. It was lower at pH 6.

Charophyte occurrence in Ceratophyllum demersum stands
Hydrobiologia, 2014The hornwort Ceratophyllum demersum is a loosely attached to the bottom or free-floating vascular macrophyte, which builds dense stands in nutrient-rich waters. The hornwort stands are usually monospecific communities with a negligible contribution of other aquatic plants.

Ceratophyllum submersum L. in Nederland
1961Up to 1954 Ceratophyllum submersum L. was represented in the Netherlands herbaria mainly from a few localities in the neighbourhood of the coast, and in the living state it was practically unknown to Dutch botanists. As appears from an investigation since 1954, this species still occurs in several localities in the coastal area, and is fairly common in
