Heavy metals contents in higher aquatic plants of Belarusian reservoirs and rivers: spatial and species features

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: География, геология, 2019
The spatial and species features of heavy metals (Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Mo, Pb) contents in higher aquatic plants of reservoirs and rivers within Belarus have been analyzed on monitoring data.

The Genome of Phoebe zhennan (Lauraceae) and Comparative Genomics of Phoebe 楠木(樟科)基因组与楠属植物比较基因组学研究

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 584-599, December 2025.
Phoebe zhennan is a Chinese endemic and valuable timber species of Phoebe (Lauraceae). We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of P. zhennan. Our research provides novel insights into the genome evolution of Phoebe, including whole‐genome duplication, phylogenetic relationships of magnoliids, and key MYB regulatory genes involved in lignin ...

Intraspecific trait variability is a key feature underlying the association between community‐weighted mean and abiotic gradients

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2025, Issue 12, December 2025.
Functional plant traits that influence fitness or performance provide a powerful tool for understanding and predicting how plants interact with their environment, respond to ecological changes, and contribute to ecosystem processes. To this day, most trait‐based ecological studies in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems have assumed that species ...

Nitrous oxide and methane production and emission in wetlands receiving nonpoint source nitrate loads

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 54, Issue 6, Page 2048-2060, November/December 2025.
Abstract Although wetland restoration is a promising strategy to reduce nonpoint source nitrogen (N) loads, there is some concern over the potential for increased nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. We examined the production and emission of N2O and methane (CH4) from wetlands designed to intercept and reduce elevated, nonpoint source nitrate (NO3−) loads ...

Multiscale habitat analysis for the shoals spider lily: A species of conservation interest

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 89, Issue 8, November 2025.
We applied a multiscale analysis to determine what stream characteristics predicted shoals spider lily habitat in Stevens Creek, South Carolina. Shallow stream depth and coarse substrate were the most important predictors of spider lily presence at the microhabitat scale.

Trace elements concentrations in aquatic biota from the Iron Gates wetlands in Romania

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2013
Concentration of four heavy metals was studied in living organisms from the wetlands ecosystems within the Iron Gates Natural Park in Romania. Samples included aquatic plants (Ceratophyllum ssp., Potamogeton pectinatus, Potamogeton natans), molluscs ...
