Ceratophyllum demersum-An accretion biotool for heavy metal remediation

Science of The Total Environment, 2022
Freshwater habitats are under serious threat due to the diverse pressures of development and restoration of these ecosystems is an important challenge in the present era. With a number of scientifically advanced methods available for restoration of these systems, phytoremediation finds its unique space as an ecologically sustainable technique.

Secondary metabolites of Ceratophyllum demersum

Hydrobiologia, 1995
Ceratophyllum demersum L. is abundant in European rivers and ponds and produces a large amount of biomass. Almost nothing is known about its secondary metabolites. We isolated two flavonoid glycosides and identified one of them an apigenin-7-O-glucoside. Seven sterols, the main one sitosterol, were also identified. Volatile compounds contained mainly n-

Ceratophyllum demersum (coontail).

2021
Abstract C. demersum is a cosmopolitan submerged aquatic species that has probably already invaded most of its potential exotic range. It has the advantages of being a perennial surviving well over-winter in deeper water and by growing both by asexual reproduction of broken or complete stems and by sexual reproduction of very many ...

Hormonal interactions in Ceratophyllum demersum

Aquatic Botany, 1982
Ceratophyllum demersum L. is a submerged aquatic macrophyte without roots. It occurs in winter in the dormant form and in summer in the active form. The effect of application of mixtures of indole acetic acid (IAA), abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellic acid (GA3) on subsequent growth after treatment in the quiescent stage was studied.

Variation of Ceratophyllum Demersum in Eastern Kansas

Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science (1903-), 1951
Field observations in the state reveal that Ceratophyllum demersum L. is a much more common plant than our records show. Gates (1940) lists the plant from eight scattered counties. The writer has, however, found the species in many Kansas counties and feels certain that it occurs throughout the state in suitable habitats.
