Sediment Characteristics in Stonewort Chara tomentosa Assemblages

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
The study investigated sediment characteristics associated with Chara tomentosa. The results show that sediment grain size and the concentration of the dissolved phosphate in the porewater differ in the seafloor areas characterised by C. tomentosa from adjacent areas at similar depth, but without charophytes.

Protected Areas Have Not Halted Macrophyte Biodiversity Loss and Eutrophication in Northwest German Standing Waters

open access: yesJournal of Vegetation Science, Volume 37, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Since the mid‐20th century, mean site‐level macrophyte richness declined by more than a quarter across 119 standing waters of various types in northwest Germany. Within protected areas, richness was consistently higher but declined at similar rates. Communities shifted towards eutrophic‐hypertrophic indicators, underscoring the need for catchment‐wide ...

Multiple Shoot Regeneration Of Ceratophyllum Demersum L. On Agar Solidified And Liquid Mediums [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Coontail or hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum L.) is a submergent aquatic macrophyte from Ceratophyllaceae family that has been widely used to remove heavy metals (photoremediation) and for pollution monitoring (biomonitor) in the aquatic environment ...

Growth of Microcystis strains isolated from environments with the presence and absence of submerged macrophytes in coexistence with Ceratophyllum demersum

open access: yesActa Scientiarum : Biological Sciences, 2021
Cyanobacterial blooms can cause severe ecological and health problems in drinking water reservoirs. To alleviate this problem, allelopathically active submerged macrophytes can be used to reduce cyanobacterial growth.

The Genome of Phoebe zhennan (Lauraceae) and Comparative Genomics of Phoebe 楠木(樟科)基因组与楠属植物比较基因组学研究

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 584-599, December 2025.
Phoebe zhennan is a Chinese endemic and valuable timber species of Phoebe (Lauraceae). We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of P. zhennan. Our research provides novel insights into the genome evolution of Phoebe, including whole‐genome duplication, phylogenetic relationships of magnoliids, and key MYB regulatory genes involved in lignin ...
