Caffeine and Cerebral Blood Flow

British Journal of Psychiatry, 1983
SummaryTwo groups of normal volunteers had regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) measured, by the133Xenon inhalation technique, before and 30 minutes after 250 mg or 500 mg caffeine given orally. rCBF was measured in a third group of subjects, twice, at a similar interval under identical laboratory conditions.

Local cerebral blood flow

Neurology, 1974
An experimental method is described for determining local cerebral blood flow within an area supplied by a major cerebral artery. With the use of anatomic-radiologic correlates, the territories of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries were defined in the rhesus monkey.

Cerebral Blood Flow

1984
Measurement of cerebral blood flow (CBF) in the animal laboratory and on the clinical service differs in methodology and to a certain extent in rationale. This review will include a brief discussion of experiments from our own laboratory that compare the regulation of CBF in fetal, newborn and adult animals, followed by a comment on the advantages and ...

Fetal Cerebral Blood Flow

Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1989

Cerebral Blood Flow in Migraine

Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, 1977
SYNOPSISCerebral blood flow has seldom been measured during attacks of migraine and cluster headache. The literature is reviewed and five cases studied in our laboratory are described. The results of these studies confirm Wolff's hypothesis that cerebral blood flow is decreased during auras and increased during headaches.

Cerebral Blood Flow

1987
Research on the nature of brain infarction has proceeded using various approaches, including those of histopathology, biochemistry and electrophysiology. One of the most fundamental parameters in such research is cerebral blood flow (CBF)—which is an essential barometer for determining the level of brain ischemia.

Cerebral Blood Flow in Hypertension

Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, 1985
The most important aspect of cerebral blood flow (CBF) in hypertension is the change that occurs in CBF autoregulation: increased cerebrovascular resistance causes the lower and upper limits of CBF autoregulation to be at higher pressure levels. The mechanism seems to be mainly structural thickening and luminal narrowing of cerebral resistance vessels.
