Functional neurological disorders (FNDs) can present acutely at any stage of a brain tumor illness and may result in inappropriate investigations and treatment. Improved awareness of this issue will facilitate earlier diagnosis of FND, encourage development of multidisciplinary pathways to treat FND, and prevent delays to tumor treatment.

Although dysphagia is a recognized complication of oropharyngeal muscle involvement, drooling (sialorrhea) is infrequently described and may be a marker of severe disease.

A wide spectrum of cells in the brain can engage in antigen presentation, which activates adaptive immunity in the central nervous system (CNS). Tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRM) develop in adaptive immunity in the CNS and provide long‐term immune surveillance, including the clearance of pathogens and tumor cells.
