VOLUME AND PRESSURE One of the many observations dealing with physical laws governing cerebrospinal fluid pressure which need clarification is the meaning of the ratio between the removal of cerebrospinal fluid and the subsequent reduction in the cerebrospinal fluid pressure. It is needless for our purpose to quote extensively from the literature.

Low cerebrospinal fluid pressure headache
Current Treatment Options in Neurology, 2002Alterations in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure lead to neurologic symptoms, the most common clinical manifestation of which is headache. Typically, the headache is orthostatic and related to traction on pain-sensitive intracranial and meningeal structures, distention on periventricular pain-sensitive areas, and direct pressure on pain conveying ...

Impaired cerebrospinal fluid pressure
2018Abnormalities of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure are relatively common and may lead to a variety of symptoms, with headache usually being the most prominent one. The clinical presentation of alterations in CSF pressure may vary significantly and show a striking similitude to several primary headache syndromes.

Low cerebrospinal fluid pressure syndromes
Neurologic Clinics, 2004Only 12 years ago the first report on pachymeningeal gadolinium enhancement in low-pressure headaches appeared in the literature. In this short interval the enormous impact of MRI on so-called "spontaneous intracranial hypotension" and "low-pressure head-aches" has become obvious.

Efforts to advance the science of medicine in later years have made ever increasing use of measurements 1 —a trend which is natural and important and which has occurred before in the development of other sciences. But our science, unlike some of the others, as a rule does not permit a high degree of accuracy in its measurements; and we, familiar with ...

Spontaneous Low Cerebrospinal Fluid Pressure Headache
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, 1990SYNOPSIS A 69 year old man presented with headache on arising and relieved with recumbency. His clinical presentation, laboratory data, response to treatment and radiographic evaluation were consistent with spontaneous low cerebrospinal fluid pressure from CSF hyperabsorption.

Radiology, 1963
Although a number of authors (1–3) have reported the performance of pneumoencephalography with minimal removal of cerebrospinal fluid, there is still some opposition to this practice, on the basis that a significant increase in cerebrospinal fluid pressure might result, with an adverse reaction in the patient.

RAISING CEREBROSPINAL FLUID PRESSURE
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1924The effects produced by a great variety of drugs on the cerebrospinal fluid pressure have been studied by a number of investigators. The substances used include such drugs as ether, chloroform, strychnin, atropin, amylnitrite and pilocarpin, and a number of organ extracts, such as epinephrin, pituitary extract, choroid plexus, and brain substances ...

Pathogenesis of raised cerebrospinal fluid pressure
Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1982Raised cerebrospinal fluid pressure may be caused by (a) subarachnoid CSF circulation blocks (b) obstruction of CSF absorption in the arachnoid villi (c) disorders of the venous return from the superior sagittal sinus to the heart. The common factor in these mechanisms is obstructed CSF drainage.

Cerebrospinal Fluid Pressure and Glaucoma
Current Ophthalmology Reports, 2016Purpose of Review Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide and remains a disease with a complex underlying pathophysiology. Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is glaucoma in the absence of known causes and often is associated with elevated intraocular pressure (IOP).
