Non‐Targeted Analysis of Extracellular Vesicle‐Enriched Plasma Proteome Between Early and Late Rugby Playing Career

open access: yesPROTEOMICS – Clinical Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Rugby players experience high‐impact collisions, potentially increasing their risk of neurodegenerative conditions. This study investigates whether the plasma proteome of extracellular vesicles (EV) provides biomarkers to indicate differential risk associated with a rugby career.

Longitudinal Relationships of Subclinical Cardiovascular Disease with Physical Function in Older Adults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Low ankle-arm index (AAI), a marker of peripheral arterial disease, predicts incident disability in older adults. Elevated pulse wave velocity (PWV), a measure of arterial stiffness, increases risk of cardiovascular events and mortality.

Atypical presentation of pheochromocytoma as acute ischemic stroke and pulmonary embolism, a case report

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Pheochromocytoma is a rare catecholamine‐secreting tumor that often presents with symptoms such as hypertension, palpitations, and sweating due to excessive hormone production. In some cases, the catecholamine‐induced vasoconstriction and hypercoagulability associated with pheochromocytomas can lead to cerebrovascular accidents and ...
