Differential cerebrovascular CO2 reactivity in anterior and posterior cerebral circulations
Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology, 2013The potential differences in cerebrovascular responses between the anterior and posterior circulations to changes in CO₂ are unclear in humans. Using transcranial Doppler ultrasound, we compared the CO₂ reactivity of the (1) BA and PCA and (2) MCA and PCA during hyperoxic rebreathing in supine position.

Relationship between circulation time and cerebral blood flow in cerebrovascular disease [PDF]
Comparing studies on regional cerebral blood flow and circulation time were performed in 150 patients with cerebral disorders caused by stenosing disease of extracranial and intracranial arterial vessels and by ischemic attacks without angiographic visible disturbances of the cerebral arteries.

Increased circulating leukocyte-derived microparticles in ischemic cerebrovascular disease
Thrombosis Research, 2017Circulating leukocyte-derived microparticles act as proinflammatory mediators that reflect vascular inflammation. In this study, we examined the hypothesis that the quantity of leukocyte-derived microparticles is increased in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, and investigated utility of various phenotypes of leukocyte-derived ...

Recently developed diagnostic, therapeutic, and investigative techniques are opening up new and encouraging vistas for effective management of cerebrovascular accidents of various kinds. The diagnosis of stroke is not sufficient; it is necessary to determine the vessel involved and the cause of its involvement.

[Cerebrovascular circulation in patients with oligomenorrhea].
Akusherstvo i ginekologiia, 1993Brain hemodynamics was studied in 76 patients with oligomenorrhea aged 18 to 35 from the data of rheoencephalography. Disorders of the regional tone of brain vessels were different and related to the time of the menstrual cycle disorder; this may be explained by the degree of changes in various neuromediator mechanisms of brain circulation and ...

The Effects of Reduced Cerebrovascular Circulation on the Auditory Brain Stem Response (ABR)
Ear and Hearing, 1985The effect of decreased anterior (carotid) bloodflow on the auditory brain stem response (ABR) was studied in a group of middle-aged males with angiographically confirmed decreased carotid circulation who were candidates for internal carotid end-arterectomy.

The human fetal brain is protected from pressure changes by autoregulation of the cerebral circulation. However, antenatal intrauterine cerebrovascular events are found to play an important role in the pathogenesis of perinatal brain damage. Changes in placental vascular resistance, cardiac contractibility, vessel compliance, and blood viscosity alter ...
