Translational control in plants: from basic mechanisms to environmental and developmental responses. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant J
SUMMARY Protein synthesis is an essential process for all living organisms and is tightly regulated to ensure the proper production of proteins needed for growth, development, and stress responses. As sessile organisms, plants have evolved distinct mechanisms to regulate translation, allowing them to adapt to their environment.

Data Assimilation of Near-Surface In-Situ Soil Moisture Using the DSSAT Crop Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Soil water is an important variable in agricultural environments as it contributes to yield response as well as areas of environmental concern including erosion, runoff, and nitrogen leaching (through deep drainage).

Penalization model of maize productivity by CERES-Maize

open access: yes, 2008
The present work analyzes penalization imposed by the CERES-Maize model in the corn yield variables. The direct soil water evaporation and the crop evapotranspiration were also studied according to CERES-Maize model and SISDA 3.0, using crop coefficient to calculate evapotranspiration and penalization of soil water under field capacity.

Simulation of Maize Lethal Necrosis (MLN) Damage Using the CERES-Maize Model [PDF]

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
Maize lethal necrosis (MLN), maize streak virus (MSV), grey leaf spot (GLS) and turcicum leaf blight (TLB) are among the major diseases affecting maize grain yields in sub-Saharan Africa. Crop models allow researchers to estimate the impact of pest damage on yield under different management and environments. The CERES-Maize model distributed with DSSAT

Evaluering en kalibrering van CERES-Maize: 3. Rywydtes in die westelike Hoëveld [PDF]

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Plant and Soil, 1994

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Treated Wastewater and Nitrate Transport Beneath Irrigated Fields near Dodge City, Kansas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Use of secondary-treated municipal wastewater for crop irrigation south of Dodge City, Kansas, where the soils are mainly of silty clay loam texture, has raised a concern that it has resulted in high nitrate-nitrogen concentrations (10-50 mg/kg) in the ...
