Journal of Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Ser. B2 (Coastal Engineering), 2011 The carbon captured by living organisms in oceans is stored in the form of sediments from mangroves, salt marshes and seagrasses. We evaluated the blue carbon sinks by gastropod Cerithidea cingulata in river mouth tidal flat. We determined oxygen consumption of C. cingulata in the air and water conditions.
