Characterization of CBD-CdS Doped with Some Rare Earths III (Eu3+,Ce3+) as Function of Synthesis Time [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2018
Rare earths (Europium, cerium)-doped CdS nanofilms are prepared using the growth technique chemical bath deposition (CBD) at the reservoir temperature of 70±2°C varying the synthesis time in a wide range.

Thermodynamics of the {\alpha}-{\gamma} transition in Cerium from first principles

open access: yes, 2014
We present a thermodynamical investigation of the alpha-gamma transition of Ce using first principles calculation based on the combination of Density Functional Theory with Dynamical Mean Field Theory.

Valence‐Engineering of CeO2 Redox Modulator Boosts the Oxygen Electrocatalysis Performance in Fe/Co Dual‐Atom Catalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Valence‐engineering of CeO2 redox modulator can remove the highly oxidative by‐products and accelerate the oxidation state transitions of Co/Fe centers in FeCo dual‐atom catalyst during oxygen reduction/evolution electrocatalysis. Therefore, the stability and activity issues are resolved, significantly enhancing the overall performance when used as an ...

Ab initio prediction of magnetically dead layers in freestanding $\gamma$-Ce(111)

open access: yes, 2010
It is well known that the surface of nonmagnetic $\alpha$-Ce is magnetically ordered, i.e., $\gamma$-like. One then might conjecture, in agreement with previous theoretical predictions, that the $\gamma$-Ce may also exhibit at its surfaces even more ...

Chemical Upcycling of Polyphenylene Sulfide at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) is a semi‐crystalline super engineering plastic with exceptional properties. An iron‐photocatalyzed strategy is reported for chemical upcycling of PPS plastics at room temperature using 1,2‐dichloroethane. The method demonstrates remarkable efficiency across diverse PPS resins and post‐consumer composites, even within ...

Ce‐Doped Lignin‐Based Nanozyme with Heat‐Activated Hydrolase Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel Ce‐doped lignin‐based hydrolase nanozyme (Ce‐AL) is synthesized using Ce ions coordinated with aminated industrial lignin. The Ce‐AL effectively hydrolyzes phosphate ester bonds and protein amide bonds, maintain high activity at 100°C, and successfully fights bacteria biofilms.

Self-consistency over the charge-density in dynamical mean-field theory: a linear muffin-tin implementation and some physical implications

open access: yes, 2007
We present a simple implementation of the dynamical mean-field theory approach to the electronic structure of strongly correlated materials. This implementation achieves full self-consistency over the charge density, taking into account correlation ...
