Divergent Stabilities of Tetravalent Cerium, Uranium, and Neptunium Imidophosphorane Complexes

open access: yes, 2023
The study of the redox chemistry of mid-actinides (U – Pu) has historically relied on cerium as a model, due to the accessibility of trivalent and tetravalent oxidation states for these ions.

Effects of trace Ce addition on critical cooling rate and Ti (CN) precipitation of ultra high strength steel plate

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
It is well-known that issues always occur for local non-hardenability of 1.5 GPa ultra-high strength steel plates during conventional hot forming processes, once the thickness of the plates is more than 2.5 mm.

Mechanical properties of ceria nanorods and nanochains; The effect of dislocations, grain-boundaries and oriented attachment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We predict that the presence of extended defects can reduce the mechanical strength of a ceria nanorod by 70%. Conversely, the pristine material can deform near its theoretical strength limit.

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Different Roles of Ce3+ Optical Centers in Oxyorthosilicate Nanocrystals at X-ray and UV Excitation

open access: yesCrystals, 2019
Luminescence properties of Lu2SiO5:Ce3+ and Y2SiO5:Ce3+ nanocrystals were studied using photo- and X-ray luminescence techniques. The crystal structure of Re2SiO5 nanocrystals (P21/c space group) differs from the crystal structure of Re2SiO5 bulk ...

Macrophage‐targeted cerium‐tannic acid metal‐polyphenol framework nanoenzyme promotes in situ heart valves regeneration through adaptive immunomodulation

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A novel nanoenzyme based on cerium ions‐tannic acid metal‐polyphenol framework (FCT) has been developed and loaded onto DHVs for targeting M1 macrophages to reduce their ROS level and reprogram macrophage phenotype, thereby eliminating inflammation, promoting endothelialization and adaptive matrix remodeling of scaffolds, offering a promising strategy ...
