Apple pomace pectin is explored as a sustainable and multifunctional biomaterial for gastric ulcer management. Its unique structural features confer mucoadhesive, anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti‐Helicobacter pylori activities while enabling nano/microencapsulation of therapeutic agents.

Subsurface Stabilization of Interstitial Pt Atoms on CeO2(111): Rethinking Single‐Atom Catalyst Architectures

By combining polarization‐resolved IRRAS on atomically flat CeO2(111) single crystals with quantitative XPS and DFT calculations, we identify an unusual subsurface interstitial configuration of Pt single atoms that gives rise to a previously unobserved, blue‐shifted CO vibrational mode.
