Testing the Limits of Morphology: A Comprehensive Morphometric Study of the Sister Lineages Lasiocyano Galleti‐Lima, Hamilton, Borges and Guadanucci, 2023 and Lasiodora C. L. Koch, 1850 (Theraphosidae, Mygalomorphae)

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 287, Issue 4, April 2026.
An extensive morphometric framework combining linear and geometric morphometry was applied to evaluate interspecific differentiation within the Lasiocyano sazimai and Lasiodora lineage (Theraphosidae). Despite statistically significant differences in some analyses, extensive morphological overlap and high intraspecific variation consistently reduced ...

Floral trait similarity at the community‐level increases reproductive success suggesting facilitation through pollinator sharing

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 4, April 2026.
The ability of plants to attract pollinators is context‐dependent, influenced by floral traits, abundance, and resources from the plant community. Indirect interactions through shared pollinators, from competition to facilitation, may lead to varied reproductive outputs in plants, and the mechanisms behind these interactions remain to be fully ...

Morfo-anatomia comparada de espécies da subtribo Coutoubeinae (Chironieae - Gentianaceae) Compared morphoanatomy of species of the subtribe Coutoubeinae (Chironieae - Gentianaceae)

open access: yesActa Botânica Brasílica, 2009
O objetivo do trabalho é caracterizar a morfo-anatomia do corpo vegetativo de Deianira erubescens, Deianira pallescens, Deianira nervosa, Deianira chiquitana e Schultesia gracilis, visando fornecer subsídios à taxonomia e compreender algumas estratégias ...

Phylogenomics and morphology reveal a new species of Anthurium (Araceae) endemic to the Caatinga Domain in Brazil

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract The Caatinga is an exclusively Brazilian phytogeographic domain characterized by xerophytic vegetation, high biodiversity, and remarkable levels of endemism. Despite its ecological importance, this region remains understudied, particularly in terms of its floristic diversity.

Soil types select for plants with matching nutrient‐acquisition and ‐use traits in hyperdiverse and severely nutrient‐impoverished campos rupestres and cerrado in Central Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, 2018
Abstract Understanding the mechanisms that underlie the generation of beta‐diversity remains a challenge in ecology. Underground plant adaptations to environmental gradients have received relatively little attention. We studied plant nutrient‐acquisition strategies and nutrient‐use efficiency at three stages of pedogenesis in infertile soils from ...

COMPORTAMENTO GERMINATIVO DE Baccharis platypoda DC. EM AMBIENTES DE FORMAÇÕES SAVÂNICAS.

open access: yesHeringeriana, 2017
A germinação pode determinar a distribuição das espécies nas  comunidades vegetais e permite compreender os fatores limitantes para o seu  estabelecimento, sobrevivência e regeneração.

The Blue List Initiative: Guiding Biodiversity Restoration in Brazil's Espinhaço Range

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 29, Issue 2, April/June 2026.
The campo rupestre is a biodiversity hotspot marked by extreme habitat heterogeneity and high species turnover. Using phytosociological data, floristic clustering and zeta diversity, we show that habitats are floristically non‐interchangeable and propose habitat‐ and substrate‐specific Blue Lists to guide effective, locality‐based ecological ...
